Man charged in Lisle robbery

A Bellwood man has been indicted by a DuPage County grand jury on four felony counts of robbery in connection with an incident on April 9, 2008, at the Speedway gas station at 550 Ogden Ave., Lisle. Police said they charged William M. Daniels, 21, of 1025 25th Ave., with the robbery after receiving an anonymous tip. They said Daniels entered the station April 9, went around the counter, tussled briefly with the clerk and escaped with a small amount of cash. They said a security camera caught the incident and Daniels matches the man on the tape. He currently is in Cook County jail on unrelated charges.
