Hoffman man with 2 DUI warrants arrested on another DUI

A Hoffman Estates man who fled the scene of a traffic crash on Christmas morning was also wanted on four other outstanding warrants, including two other driving under the influence warrants, authorities said.

Rolling Meadows police gave this account:

Leonardo Plascencia, 30, of the 600 block of North Salem Drive, hit another vehicle at Golf and Algonquin roads in Rolling Meadows at 3:48 a.m. on Dec. 25. No one was injured in the accident.

After the accident, Plascencia fled the scene. Police later found and arrested him in the 1700 block of Fernandez Place in Arlington Heights.

After he failed sobriety tests, a Rolling Meadows police officer administered a breathalyzer to Plascencia that registered a .241 blood alcohol content, triple the .08 limit.

Plascencia was charged with driving under the influence, not having a valid driver's license and not having proof of insurance.

When police were looking at Plascencia's information, they discovered he had outstanding warrants under the names Oscar Garcia, Reynaldo Montoya and Benjamin Garcia. The warrants were for driving under the influence (in Park Ridge and Hanover Park), criminal damage to property (Schiller Park) and driving with a revoked license (Streamwood).

Bond was set at $50,000 for Plascencia for all the Rolling Meadows charges, with bond to stand on all outstanding warrants. His next court date is Jan. 22.
