Schaumburg native awaits movie debut

If you were excited by recognizing the streets and sights of Chicago in "The Dark Knight" last summer, wait until you see your own Northwest suburban community in a big-screen action flick next month.

The locally shot and produced "Missy and the Maxinator" will enjoy its premiere screening at 7 p.m. Jan. 5, at the AMC South Barrington 30 at I-90 and Barrington Road.

Written and directed by Schaumburg native Daniel J. Lynch, the tongue-in-cheek superhero movie featuring local actors was shot at Conant High School in Hoffman Estates and the surrounding area back in the summer of 2003.

Completion of this personal project was slowed by Lynch's day job as an editor on other Hollywood productions.

But now it's done, and this family-friendly teen love story is ready for the red carpet.

To reserve your free tickets to the premiere, e-mail your name, address, phone number and number of tickets to info@maxinator-movie.com

If you watch carefully, you may even see one of the faces accompanying this column in the film.
