Arlington Heights

• Burglars broke into a 2003 Ford Explorer and a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer in an apartment lot on the 4200 block of Bloomington Avenue between 2:30-7 a.m. Nov. 18. A GPS, MP3 dock and portable CD player, total value $300, was taken out of the Ford and a GPS unit of unknown value out of the Mitsubishi.

• Burglars broke into a 2008 Honda Fit and a 2008 Toyota RAV4 parked at an apartment on the 2700 block of North Buffalo Grove Road overnight Nov. 16-17 and stole GPS units from each. Total loss was estimated at $385.

Rolling Meadows

• Someone entered the office at the Holiday Inn Express, 3477 Algonquin Road, between 3:50-3:55 a.m. Nov. 16 and stole a small safe and an unknown amount of cash.

Schaumburg

• Patrick J. Barruffi, 23, last known address 1059 Carswell Ave., Elk Grove Village, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. Nov. 15 at a bar on the 1100 block of East American Lane, and charged with battery. His court date is Dec. 19.

• A 2004 Honda Accord on the 2400 block of West Schaumburg Road was broken into between 1:30-2:30 p.m. Nov. 16; a $100 purse was stolen. Someone used credit cards in the purse to make purchases estimated at $550.

• Sarah Jo Cohen, 49, 429 S. Beverly Lane, Arlington Heights, was arrested Nov. 15 and charged with retail theft from Nordstrom in Woodfield Mall. Her court date is Dec. 30.

• Maxim Alisher Kadyrov, 17, 814 Chelsea Drive, Wheeling, was arrested Nov. 15 and charged with retail theft from Urban Outfitters in Woodfield Mall. His court date is Dec. 30.

• Roxana Ivet Mercado-Gomez, 37, 7016 Edgebrook Lane, Hanover Park, was arrested Nov. 15 and charged with retail theft from JCPenney in Woodfield Mall. Her court date is Dec. 30.

Deer Park

• Burglars broke into a car parked at an office on the 21000 block of Field Parkway around 12:45 p.m. Nov. 13; a $300 GPS unit was stolen.

Barrington

• Burglars broke into a vehicle on the 200 block of Eastern Avenue around 1:15 p.m. Nov. 18 and stole a purse; a loss estimate was not available.

• Thieves stole prescription medications out of a home on the 100 block of Braymore Court Nov. 13; a loss estimate was not available.

Palatine

• Rodger A. Enander, 55, 307 Inverway, Inverness, was arrested Nov. 16 and charged with retail theft from Jewel-Osco, 45 S. Plum Grove Road. A court date was not available.

• Burglars broke into a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe on the 1500 block of North King Edward Court between 12:30 p.m. Nov. 14 and 1 p.m. Nov. 15; a $200 GPS unit was stolen.

• Someone broke a sliding-glass door at a home on the 1300 block of North Geneva Drive between 12:55-1:04 a.m. Nov. 16; a damage estimate was not available.

Des Plaines

• A clerk at the BP gas station, 1990 S. Mannheim Road, was arrested Nov. 12 and charged with selling cigarettes to a juvenile undercover agent working with the police department. The court date for Babu Abraham, 53, 9485 Sumac, Apt. B, Des Plaines, is Dec. 12.

• Travis Alden Jones, 19, 227 Warrington Road, Des Plaines, was arrested Nov. 14 and charged with retail theft from Kmart, 1155 E. Oakton St. His court date is Dec. 19.

Mount Prospect

• Two men were seen on a security tape stealing 250 feet of welding cable and an attached welding instrument from a ladder rack on a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck parked at a store on the 300 block of East Kensington Road around 1:10 p.m. Nov. 17. They loaded the cable into a silver sedan and drove away; the stolen goods were valued at about $3,250.

Prospect Heights

• A mailbox on the 100 block of North Pine Street was pulled out of the ground and smashed between 7 p.m. Nov. 15 and 8 a.m. Nov. 16. A damage estimate was not available.

Buffalo Grove

• Burglars broke into a 2003 Ford Econoline van on the 100 block of Buffalo Grove Road between 4 p.m. Nov. 17 and 6:45 a.m. Nov. 18 and stole an oxyacetylene torch and refrigerant recovery machine. Value was estimated at $600.

Wheeling

• Carmelo Valazquez, 34, 55 N. Wolf Road, Apt. 2, Wheeling, was arrested around 2:05 a.m. Nov. 15 on the 500 block of Pam Court and charged with illegal transportation of open liquor, aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and traffic violations. His court date is Dec. 1.

• Burglars stole a wallet out of an unlocked Chevrolet on the 400 block of Inland Drive between 6-7 a.m. Nov. 14; the loss was valued at $40.

• Someone broke the rear window on a 2008 Toyota Corolla on the 200 block of Eighth Street between 5-6:38 p.m. Nov. 17; damage was estimated at $200.
