Spring Grove house uninhabitable after fire
Fox Lake fire crews battled a structure fire at 27610 Flamingo Lane in Spring Grove early Friday morning.
Ed Lescher, assistant chief of the Fox Lake Fire Protection District, said crews were called to the two-story home at about 7 a.m.
He said one female occupant was at home when the fire started, but she escaped without injury.
He said it took about an hour to get the fire under control. The home had significant damage and was deemed uninhabitable by Lake County officials.
Lescher said the cause of the fire is unknown at this time and that it remains under investigation.
He would not offer a damage estimate.
Fox Lake got help at the scene from the McHenry and Antioch fire departments. Lake Villa and Round Lake fire crews covered stations for Fox Lake.
