One charged in Naperville carjacking, previous armed robbery
Following two arrests in five days, a Naperville man has been charged in connection with both a Nov. 10 home invasion and a Nov. 12 carjacking, police said Thursday.
Naperville police said Marcus E. Taylor, 19, of 2552 Carrollwood Ave., was charged Nov. 14 with criminal trespass to a vehicle following an earlier interview at the police station.
Authorities allege Taylor was one of three men involved in a Nov. 12 incident in the parking lot of an apartment building in the 1200 block of Chalet Road where the victim was struck in the head with a handgun and his white 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix stolen. The victim had minor injuries and his car was recovered early on Nov. 13 in a parking lot at 1515 Aurora Avenue.
Taylor was again arrested Wednesday afternoon in connection with a Nov. 10 home invasion at 796 Inland Circle.
The investigation, they said, determined Taylor drove the other three offenders away from the scene.
Taylor was charged with one felony count each of home invasion and armed robbery in the Nov. 10 case and was transferred to the DuPage County jail in Wheaton.
Three other men allegedly involved in that incident, Ryan Springs, David Barber and William Ellis, all were arrested within the past week.
The case is still under investigation as police search for still other men believed to be involved.
Anyone who may have witnessed these events or has information regarding either case is asked to contact police at (630) 420-6726, or call the Naperville Crime Stoppers Hotline at (630) 420-6006.
