Crespo has strong anti-tax record

Rep. (Fred) Crespo doesn't just talk the talk, he walks the walk. In our harsh economic time, I'm so thankful that not only did Rep. Crespo successfully lead the fight against legislative pay raises but delivered by reinstating the program capping our annual property tax assessments. This legislation provided additional property tax relief for returning veterans, the disabled and senior citizens.

Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for Crespo's opponent, candidate Peggy Brothman. It seems to me that Brothman aligns herself with the tax and spend policies of Todd Stroger. As a school district trustee, she strongly opposed the renewal of the 7 percent property assessment cap, which limits year over year property assessment increases.

As a school board trustee, Brothman actually took many votes to back challenges against property owners who appeal unfair tax assessments. I am a hard working, middle class, law abiding, tax paying American. I don't know about you, but tax relief is important to me. I don't need Peggy Brothman working against my tax relief.

Fred Crespo has a proven record of delivering tax relief. On Nov. 4, I will be voting for Fred Crespo and encourage you to do the same.
