Glenbard East (3-3, 1-3) at Glenbard North (3-3, 2-2)
DuPage Valley Conference
Game time: 7:30 p.m. today.
Last year: Glenbard North 35, Glenbard East 0
Last week: Wheaton North 24, Glenbard East 21; Glenbard North 42, West Chicago 0.
Outlook: Both teams look to stay on a playoff path. With games remaining against unbeaten Wheaton Warrenville South as well as Naperville Central, this game looms crucial for Glenbard East. The Rams have been competitive in five of six games, inspired by a return to their Wing T offensive roots. Junior quarterback Jack Merrithey leads the way, accounting for 12 touchdowns - 5 passing and 7 rushing. Mathew Clark, Aaron Hall and Mark Krueger have combined for 164 carries and 775 rushing yards. Defensive tackle Connor Flood, an anchor on the unit, is recovering from a hamstring tweak. The Panthers enjoyed another night pounding running back Tyler Doll last week against West Chicago as he posted another 200-yard game. The Evan Watkins-Mike Carev passing combo makes the offense potent. Line injuries to Anthony Heredia and Bobby Dunn forced a move of defensive lineman Nick Marks to tight end and tight end Paul Wisniewski to tackle.
