Woodstock woman accused of drug smuggling at McHenry Co. jail
A 25-year-old Woodstock woman already being held at McHenry County jail will answer to fresh charges Monday that she smuggled nearly $700 worth of drugs into the jail.
Jillian A. Condill, of 474 West Judd St., was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance Friday, after police reported recovering 11.5 grams of heroin and 13.2 grams of methadone from her jail cell, authorities said.
The drugs have a street value of $680, according to a news release.
Police continue to investigate how the drugs were smuggled into the building.
For now, Condill remains in custody on $25,000 bond.
Condill's trouble began Thursday, after Huntley police brought her to the jail for allegedly obstructing justice, driving on a suspended license, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, police said.
In addition, Condill had a pair of warrants out in her name from Cary and McHenry for failing to appear in court on a laundry list of other charges, police said.
Condill also had between 15 and 100 grams of heroin on her person during the arrest, police said.
But Friday, acting on a tip that Condill had illegally transported other narcotics into the jail, correctional officers searched the inmate and used drug-sniffing dogs that discovered the heroin and methadone inside her jail cell, the release said.
Condill admitted to police that she brought the drugs in Thursday, the release said.
If found guilty, Condill faces between two and 10 years on the class four felony charges.
