Bloomingdale-Roselle Rotary plans Bean Bag Tournament
It feels like summer's still here. So the games should continue.
Bloomingdale-Roselle Rotary is hosting its second Bean Bag Tournament Saturday, Sept. 27.
"This is our annual fundraiser, and proceeds from this event will go to support our variety of projects, both local and international," President Ken Gross said.
Registration is $50 per team and will continue until noon Saturday, which is when the fun begins.
So far, 20 teams of two have registered, but organizers are hoping to attract up to twice that number.
"We should have some good competitors," Gross said. "We've had more interest this year than last, and we're looking for a good turnout."
The rotary will use the funds they raise to continue to help programs like DuCAP, which provides school supplies for families who can't afford them, and Bloomingdale Township's Food Pantry.
"We see this as an annual event and to get the word out about what the Rotary is doing," Gross said. "We're hoping to build on what we did last year."
The American Legion will be open and food and beverages will be available for participants.
"This should be a good time," Gross said.
