Judge increases bond in fatal hit-and-run case

A McHenry County woman accused of fleeing a fatal hit-and-run crash in Kenosha County was ordered held Thursday on a $500,000 bond on an Illinois fugitive-of-justice complaint.

Barbara Lee, 41, of Spring Grove, is accused of fleeing after an Aug. 16 crash in Wisconsin that killed a bicyclist.

Police arrested her last week in Elmhurst. She was released from jail after posting $5,000 cash as bail. On Thursday, DuPage County prosecutors sought to increase the bond, arguing Lee poses a flight risk.

Lee was taken back into custody after DuPage Circuit Judge John Kinsella raised it to $500,000.
