FSC Aquatics teams open registration: Open registration is being held for the FSC Aquatics swim, diving and polo team. No tryouts required, all welcome. Lake Park Family Open: 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20; Lake Park Golf Course, 1015 Howard Ave. at Lee Street. Palatine Boys Feeder Basketball: The Palatine Boys Feeder Basketball Program is conducting tryouts for its newly created fifth and sixth grade teams for the 2008-2009 season. Tryouts are 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22; Wednesday, Sept. 24; and Monday, Sept. 29, at Palatine High School (North Shelf). Boys should try to attend all three tryouts. Fall golf specials: The Des Plaines Park District will offer two new specials at the Lake Park Golf Course, Howard and Lee streets. Seven Dollar Sundays and the Five Dollar After School Special are available through Oct. 31 for golfers of all ages. Residents and nonresidents, can play unlimited golf for $7 all day on Sunday. The $5 After School Special allows golfers unlimited play after 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call (847) 391-5730.

Men's Flag football: The Northfield Football League, a premiere adult men's flag football league, is searching for teams and players for the upcoming fall season. Games are played on Sunday mornings in the Schiller Park area on Irving Park Road between Cumberland and River Road. This is the only league that plays 1 1/2 hour games, two referees per game.
