Breakfast, golf outing mark Chamber Week
In recognition of National Chamber of Commerce Week, Sept. 8-12, the Cary Grove Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting several activities in the community.
On Tuesday, Sept. 9 the chamber will host an Open Chamber Breakfast for members and guests interested in learning more about chamber programs and services. The event, from 8 to 10 a.m., includes a complimentary continental breakfast at Fox River Grove Village Hall, 305 Illinois St. During the morning, information on chamber services, programs will be available. Representatives from the Chamber Networking Groups will be on hand.
Breakfast treats at the event will be provided by Costco of Lake Zurich.

On Thursday, Sept. 11, the chamber will host its annual Golf Outing at Chalet Hills Golf Club, 943 Rawson Bridge Road. The outing is a scramble with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Cost is $125 per person or $500 for a foursome and includes lunch, dinner, cash bar, golf and two carts per foursome.
The golf outing includes raffles and contests for longest drive, closest to the pin and other achievements. A portion of the proceeds from the golf outing will benefit the Cary Grove Neighborhood Life. To sign up, call the chamber at (847) 639-2800.
Also during the week, New Resident Bags will be available at the chamber office, 27 E. Main St., on Route 14 in the Swanson Painting building. These bags offer local community information and coupons for local shopping. To pick up your free bag, stop by the chamber office or call (847) 629-2800. Bags also are available at the Cary and Fox River Grove village halls.
