Carpentersville
• Police arrested a man early Tuesday afternoon wanted on a warrant out of Jasper County, Ark. on a charge of fraud for insufficient funds. Lance Long, 24, P.O. Box 595, Jasper, Ark., waived his right to an extradition hearing Wednesday and will remain in the Kane County jail awaiting his pickup by Arkansas authorities.
• A 47-year-old Carpentersville man was arrested Tuesday on allegations he teased a police K-9 dog on July 5. Juan G. Garcia, 1524 Amarillo Drive, is charged with interference with a police dog and resisting a police officer, police said. Garcia posted a $500 bond Wednesday morning and was released from custody. He is scheduled to appear in court in Elgin on Sept. 11.
Elgin
• An Elgin man with two prior driving under the influence convictions is facing a third after his arrest Tuesday at the intersection of Sherman Avenue and Bowen Court. Police said a patrol officer stopped Calvin H. Lewis, 36, of 211 S. Channing St., at 8:15 p.m. and found an open container of alcohol in his car. Lewis speech was slurred, police said. He is charged with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence and cited for driving while license revoked, police said. Lewis' driver's license had been revoked for two previous driving under the influence of alcohol convictions, police said. He was unable to post a $2,500 bond and was taken to the Kane County jail. His next court date is scheduled for Sept. 5 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
Huntley
A man was arrested Aug. 22 after he fled the scene of a traffic accident, police said. Gerardo Soriano, 41, of 11706 Kenneth Ave. #2, Huntley, was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident and driving while license suspended stemming from the incident. Soriano posted a $400 bond and was released from custody. He has court dates on Sept. 8 and Sept. 19 in Woodstock.
Sleepy Hollow
• Julio Nunez, 33, of 258 Brookhaven Trail, Pingree Grove, was arrested on charges of obstructing justice for giving a false name, aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license revoked, speeding and no insurance, police said. The arrest occurred, police said, after a car driven by Nunez was seen speeding and weaving between lanes on Route 72 at Hickory Drive at 12:45 a.m. Aug. 17. Nunez' driver's license had been revoked for a previous driving under the influence of alcohol conviction, police said. He was in custody in the Kane County jail Wednesday with a $3,750 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
