FSC Aquatics teams open registration: Open registration is being held for the FSC Aquatics swim, diving and polo teams. No tryouts required, all welcome. Used sports ball collection: In cooperation with the Illinois Park and Recreation Association and Rebound Sports Project, the South Barrington Park District will be collecting old soccer balls, volleyballs and basketballs through Sept. 10 at the park district office, 3 Tennis Club Lane, South Barrington. The gently used balls will be shipped to children in need in Mexico, South America and Africa. reboundsports.org.

Hoffman Heat U14 travel baseball tryouts: 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 30; and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 31, High Point Park, North of Higgins off Glen Lake Road, near MacArthur School. Practices begin in January and the season ends Aug. 1, 2009. Players cannot turn age 15 before May, 1, 2009. Team plays 40-50 games per season as part of the Mid Suburban Baseball League. Players cannot turn 15 before May 1, 2009. Players do not have to be Streamwood residents. Streamwood Bulldogs is a competitive travel program with an emphasis on fundamentals and instruction. Conant High School Girls Feeder program: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sept. 8, 15, 22 and 29, Conant High School, 700 Cougar Trail, Hoffman Estates. Basketball clinics for the Conant High School Girls Feeder program are open to all fifth-eighth grade girls who will attend Conant High School.
