Powerful Tools for Caregiver consists of six, 1 hour sessions held once a week. The educational series is designed to provide you with the tools you need to take care of yourself while caring for another person. This program will help family caregivers: reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate feelings, balance your life, increase ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources. Classes will be held at the Village of Mount Prospect Community Center (50 South Emerson, Mount Prospect) from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Sessions are held every Monday beginning on September 8th, 2008. Japanese gardens, Swiss cottage trip: 8:30 a.m. Sept. 26 bus leaves Barrington Park District. The Barrington Area Council on Aging and Triple R. Tours will offer a trip to visit the Anderson Japanese Gardens in Rockford and the Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum in Rockford. Trip includes self-guided tour of the gardens, a hosted lunch at Cliffbreakers Riverview Restaurant and a tour of the Tinker Swiss Cottage. $61 includes, transportation, lunch and admission fees.
