Elgin Community College open house
Elgin Community College offers an opportunity to tour its classrooms inside Streamwood Village Hall during an open house from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27. The village hall is at 301 E. Irving Park Road, Streamwood.
In addition to touring classrooms and the computer lab, visitors can tour the village hall. Visitors also can register for credit and noncredit courses, and enter a drawing for a free $50 noncredit course.

September events: Elgin Community College is holding several events in September for prospective students. All events are held on the Main Campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin, and are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.
• Beginnings: Adults are invited to learn what ECC has to offer and what steps to take to enroll. Event will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, in the Student Resource Center Alumni Room. • Welcome Wednesdays: All age groups interested in learning what programs and services ECC has to offer are invited to attend this event where participants tour the campus and talk with ECC recruitment coordinators.

• Career Discovery: This two-hour workshop is ideal for individuals seeking assistance with career planning. The
workshop includes an overview of the career planning process and the resources that exist at ECC to help you throughout this process. The workshop is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10 and 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Sept. 22. Location is still to be determined. Cost is $5.
