Three questions surrounding MSL girls golf in 2008

1. Was the 2007 MSL Championship any indication of how competitive 2008 will be?

2. Will Barrington "5-peat" as champions of the MSL?

3. Can Conant junior Kris Yoo repeat as medalist of the MSL and/or finish higher than 11th at state?

Three individuals to watch out for-

1. Taylor Quinn, Barrington (Jr.)- Shot a combined score of 173 (83-90) at state last season where sheplaced 73rd. Quite impressive for a then sophomore.2. Kelly Voigt, Fremd (Jr.)- She had a very productivesophomore year for the Vikings and has all of thetools for a break out season this year.3. Kris Yoo, Conant (Jr.)- No surprise here. Yoo hasstormed through the MSL including taking medalisthonors last fall. And to think, she's only half waythrough her time as a Cougar.

Three teams to keep an eye on-

1. Prospect - Marietta Smith (17th in state) graduated, but the Knights have a solid group of seniors returning this fall. Melanie Walsh, Alexa Campanile, and Megan Geraghty were all a part of last season's team that came within 2 shots of de-throning the Fillies.

2. Fremd - A veteran team that also has a frosh/sophcore that will allow them to compete for the next fewseasons. Despite losing Claudia Schwan to graduation, they figure to be in the hunt.

3. Barrington - With Quinn being their anchor thisyear, Barrington hopes to capitalize on their 8thplace finish at state in '07. The Fillies have beenhit hard by graduation though as McCall Barsamian,Marina Karamanis, Brittany Keiter, Amanda Schmitz, and Courtney Shattuck have left.
