Bartlett

• John W. Jackson, 20, 272 Village Lane, Bartlett, and Christopher R. Johnson, 20, 2320 Waterfall Lane, Hanover Park, were arrested July 19 on the 200 block of Lake Street and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor. Their court date is Aug. 11.

• Unlocked vehicles in an open garage on Woodhaven Drive were burglarized around 7 a.m. July 19; stolen were a laptop computer and carrying case, MP3 player, cash, wallet and 60 CDs, valued altogether at about $3,930.

• Mika Jacek, 39, 1907 Burton Drive, Bartlett, was arrested July 19 on the 200 block of Ariana Drive and charged with illegal transportation of open alcohol, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and criminal damage to state-supported property. A court date was not available.

• James R. Durante Jr., 18, 1536 Derby Lane, Bartlett, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. July 17 on the 800 block of Kent Circle and charged with possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor and driving under the influence. He was arrested again around 2:30 a.m. July 19 at Schick Road and Route 59, and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor. His court date is Aug. 17.

• Someone forced open a basement window at a home on Newcastle July 16, and stole a laptop computer, diamond pendant and ring, valued at an estimated $4,300.

Hanover Park

• Packages of filet mignon worth about $300 were stolen from a store at 7580 Barrington Road around 5:50 p.m. July 21.

• Rodney K. Porter, 40, 3911 Leeward, Hanover Park, was arrested July 20 and charged with criminal damage to property after police say he damaged his neighbor's property on the 3900 block of Leeward. A court date was not available.

• Cruz Gonzalez, 33, 1618 S. Ridgeland, Berwyn, was arrested July 19 at Briar Lane and Briarwood Avenue and charged with possession of marijuana. A court date was not available.

• Keiron Stewart, 25, 2390 Glendale Terrace, Hanover Park, was arrested July 19 at his home and charged with possession of marijuana. A court date was not available.

Hoffman Estates

• Someone threw a landscape brick that smashed a living room window on the 4300 block of Rock Cove Drive around 2:25 a.m. July 22. Damage was estimated at $150.

• A barbecue grill and propane tank were stolen out of a backyard on the 1600 block of Essex Drive between 8 p.m. July 16 and 8 a.m. July 18. The theft was valued at $249.

• BB-gun pellets broke a second-floor bedroom window on the 1600 block of Brittany Lane between 5 and 7 p.m. July 17. Damage was estimated at $250.

• A 1999 Volkswagen Jetta in an apartment lot on the 1000 block of North Roselle Road was broken into and a GPS unit stolen between 1 and 2:30 a.m. July 20. Damage and the theft were estimated at $800.

Schaumburg

• A man walking on the 1600 block of Old Schaummburg Road around 7:40 p.m. July 18 was punched in the face after he refused a demand for money. A man got out of a gray and red conversion van, stopped the victim to demand money, and hit him when the victim refused, police said. The assailant got back into the van, driven by a woman, but the victim clung to the van door and managed to hit the offender while the van was moving. The victim grabbed a CD case and a white hat from the van and then fell to the ground as the van sped away.

• Esbeidy Fulcado, 40, 1400 Carolina Court, Apt. 201, Schaumburg, was arrested around 6:40 p.m. July 19 and charged with endangering the life or health of a child. Police say she left her 3-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son in the care of their infirm, 77-year-old grandmother. The officer had to chase the 3-year-old girl several times during the two hours the officer stayed with them, and finally took the children to the police department; Fulcado was arrested when she arrived. Her court date is Aug. 19. The charges were later dismissed.

• Sukanya Puvvada, 37, 1004 Sweet Flower, Hoffman Estates, was arrested around 6:05 p.m. July 19 at a store on the 1800 block of East McConnor. Police said she was charged with battery after grabbing and pushing a woman while both were in line for a children's play area. Her court date is Aug. 25.

• Amy Susan Kopp, 25, 735 Bode Road, Hoffman Estates, was arrested around 4:55 p.m. July 18 and charged with retail theft from Target, 2621 W. Schaumburg Road. Her court date is Aug. 5.

• A white 2002 Hyundai Elantra sedan, worth about $5,000, was stolen from the 2400 block of Charleston Drive between 7 p.m. July 17 and 5:20 a.m. July 18.

Streamwood

• Gregory Allen Slaughter, 48, 104 Patricia Parkway, Streamwood, was arrested July 18 at Irving Park and Bartlett roads and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. An officer initially pulled him over for littering - tossing pistachio nuts out of his car window - but discovered he was carrying crack cocaine, police said. A court date was not available.

• Mark Barron, 19, 6983 Orchard Lane, Hanover Park, was arrested around 12:20 a.m. July 19 and charged with possession of marijuana. A court date was not available.

• Someone shot out garage lights at a home on the 1000 block of Oak Ridge Drive with BB gun pellets between 2 and 3:30 p.m. July 20. A damage estimate was not available.

• Derrick Rodney Smith, 34, 604 S. Park Blvd., Streamwood, was arrested July 19 and charged with assault after he told a man and woman on the 600 block of South Park Boulevard he had a gun and would kill them, police said. Officers found a 3-inch folding knife in his pants pocket but no gun. A court date was not available.

• An unlocked home on the 900 block of Miller Avenue was burglarized between 7:30 p.m. July 18 and 3:30 p.m. July 20. Stolen was a laptop computer and digital camera. A loss estimate was not available.

• Antonio Pietanza, 18, 1373 Lilac Lane, Carol Stream, was arrested around 12:05 a.m. July 21 on the 700 block of Surrey Drive and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A court date was not available.
