Senior golf league: The Elk Grove Village Senior Men's Golf League plays nine holes at 7:30 a.m. Tuesdays at Fox Run Golf Links, 333 Plum Grove Road, Elk Grove Village. It is not necessary to live in Elk Grove Village. The season lasts until Sept. 2. Call Gerald Aleksy (847) 910-1247.

Golf League: The Survivors, a men's Wednesday evening golf league, is looking for a few players. Meets at Arlington Lakes Golf Course, This is a low-key/light-competition league and invites players of all levels of ability. Current ages in the league are from the mid 20s to the 70s. Chicago Inline Marathon: 8 a.m. July 26, Hoffman Estates. Recreational, fitness and expert skaters of all ages and levels and invited to participate in this 26.2 mile, skating marathon. Event includes industry skate expo, free "Young Guns" race for ages 8 and under, a one-mile race for age 12 and under, and a recreation 1/2 mile marathon. Supports Special Olympics, North America. ComEd First Pitch at Wrigley Field: July 30 is the deadline to register for the Home Run sweepstakes for a chance to throw out the ceremonial opening pitch at the Aug. 28 Chicago Cubs home game against the Philadelphia Phillies and four field box tickets to the game. Chicago Shamrox Hot Rox Dance Team auditions: 8:15 a.m. Aug. 9, Holiday Inn Northwest, Elgin. The auditions will have two rounds. Girls advancing past the first round of tryouts will perform in front of a live studio audience and be judged by a panel of celebrity judges.
