• Lilia Tumolva of Glendale Heights, a registered nurse working in intensive and critical care for nearly 30 years, was name Nurse of the Year by Adventist GlenOaks Hospital in Glendale Heights. She was recognized for putting patient care as a top priority and coming in on her days off for issues that need to be addressed.
• Carl A. Pellettieri of Glen Ellyn and Patricia Carter Luessenhop of Wheaton were named to the board of directors of Bridge Communities, a transitional housing agency in Glen Ellyn assisting homeless families in DuPage County.
Pellettieri also will serve on the Bridge Communities' Development and Marketing Committee. He is a graduate of John Marshall Law School and DePaul University with 20 years experience representing hospitals and physician practices. Pellettieri also serves on the board of First Illinois Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and on the group's chief financial officer's committee. He is active on the Glen Ellyn Youth Baseball Association and coaches the Glen Ellyn Phillies traveling team.
Luessenhop also will serve on the Development and Marketing Committee. She has 20 years experience in senior housing and health care industries and serves on the board of directors of Life Service Network, a senior living industry professional association.
• Sarah Deardorff, a 2004 graduate of Valparaiso University, is a case manager for World Relief DuPage in Wheaton and recently received a fellowship for future international development and policy leaders from the Weidenfeld Institute for Strategic Dialogue to pursue advanced studies at Oxford University. Deardorff is one of only five Americans to win the scholarship. She has spent the past three years working with refugees overseas and in the United States. She also holds a master's from the University of Chicago and worked with refugees through the World Council of Churches based in Geneva.
