Lisle man charged with sexually assaulting 7-year-old

A 20-year-old Lisle man was being held Monday on $200,000 bond at DuPage County jail on charges he sexually assaulted a 7-year-old relative, authorities said.

Fernando J. Bandera, of 4945 Keller St. #305, was arrested Saturday and charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault.

Lisle Sgt. Ron Wilke said Bandera was left alone with the female victim for a short time while the victim's mother picked up the victim's father from work.

Her parents became concerned when they arrived home shortly after 2 a.m. and found the victim awake. Her parents called police after questioning her.

Criminal sexual assault is a Class 1 felony carrying a penalty of four to 15 years in prison.
