Metra parking up 25 cents

For the first time in more than 20 years, daily parking inside Cary's Metra commuter parking lot is going up. Effective Tuesday, the price will rise from $1 to $1.25 and the extra revenue will help pay for the lot's improvement and future expansion, officials say.

Huntley library goes digital

With your Huntley Area Public Library card, you can now download audio books, e-books and movies from the library's Web site. The library now subscribes to NetLibrary, a service that allows you to download audio books for 21 days. The library also subscribes to MyMediaMall, which lets you use free software to read books, listen to audio books or watch movies. You can access the services at huntleylibrary.org/home.php. Sticker season starts

Carpentersville residents must buy and display vehicle stickers starting Tuesday. Stickers are available from the finance department at village hall. Passenger vehicle stickers are $25. Seniors, disabled residents and veterans may purchase stickers for $1. Vehicle stickers are valid from July 1 to June 30, 2009. Late fees apply for stickers purchased after July 2.
