TCD gets interim leader
Alf Logan, the former superintendent of Fenton High School District 100, will serve as interim director of the Technology Center of DuPage and the DuPage Area Occupational Educational System. Current director Frederick Kane retires today. Logan served on the organization's board of directors for 20 years. The TCD campus is in Addison.
Silent auction to aid 4-H
The DuPage County office of the University of Illinois Extension is inviting area businesses to participate in a garden party luncheon and silent auction to benefit the DuPage County 4-H Foundation. The event will be held Aug. 1 at the Klein Creek Golf Club, 1N333 Pleasant Hill Road, Winfield. The DuPage County 4-H Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides financial support for University of Illinois Extension programs, including 4-H Youth Development and Master Gardener programs. Park district offers pass
Naperville Park District will offer a On-the-Go Pass starting Tuesday that will let area residents sample what the Naperville Riverwalk has to offer. The $15 pass entitles the holder to one-time admission to Centennial Beach, a 20-minute paddleboat ride for up to four people at Paddleboat Quarry and admission to the Millennium Carillon. All three attractions may be visited in one day or on separate occasions. Passes sold this summer will be valid through Oct. 31, 2009. The passes will be sold at the Naperville Park District Administrative Building, 320 W. Jackson Ave.; South Maintenance Facility, 3415 Book Road; Centennial Beach, 500 W. 'American Girl' star in town
