STD clinics: Registration begins at 8 a.m. Tuesdays and 3 p.m. Thursdays, Belvidere Medical Building, 2400 Belvidere Road, Waukegan. The Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center offers confidential clinics for the screening and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases. Patients can call up to one week in advance to schedule an appointment. Fees are on a sliding scale. A $10 co-pay is required at the time of service (this excludes high school students and Medicaid clients). No one will be refused treatment due to inability to pay. The Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center offers walk-in and telephone crisis counseling and referrals for Lake County residents experiencing emotional stress. Immunization Clinics for Children: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays; 1-3 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; 1-6 p.m. Thursdays; and 9-11 a.m. the second Saturday of each month, Lake County Health Department Belvidere Medical Building Annex, 2303 Dodge Avenue, Waukegan. The cost of an immunization is $10, but no one is denied services due to inability to pay. No appointment necessary.
