Body found in Busse Woods identified as missing woman

A body found in the Busse Woods Forest Preserve Monday has been positively identified as that of a missing Schaumburg woman.

Patricia McNamara, 45, was last seen near her home May 28. Her mother, Lee Reiser, said McNamara had been planning to go on a religious retreat in Ohio with a friend, but never went. The family had reported to police that she'd gone missing.

The cause of McNamara's death remains undetermined pending toxicology tests, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Reiser said her daughter's last contact with the family had been a letter indicating that she was feeling depressed and asking her family to pray for her.

Cook County Forest Preserve Police spokesman Steve Mayberry said a mosquito abatement worker discovered the woman's passport in the forest preserve about 3 p.m. Monday.

That prompted a search of the area during which a woman's body of indeterminate age and race was found.
