Briefs: Bensenville road hearing

The DuPage County Division of Transportation will host a public hearing 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Monty's Banquets, 703 S. York Road in Bensenville, concerning plans to improve York and Irving Park intersection. An audiovisual presentation of the project will be shown every half-hour beginning at 3 p.m. and exhibits of the project will be on display. Kids get prizes for reading

Roselle Public Library's summer reading program for children will start Monday and continues through July 28. Children can earn prizes by reading or listening to books on tape. Prizes are awarded each time a child logs three hours, up to a completed 12 hours. Reading must be logged at the youth services desk at the Roselle Public Library, 40 S. Instrument collection drive

The Wheaton Band Festival, in participation with the Salvation Army, has launched its fourth annual drive to collect unused music instruments. Donated instruments will be given to disadvantaged children and teenagers so they can join bands and attend music classes and music summer camps conducted by the Salvation Army.
