• Memorial Day will be observed on Monday, May 26. All school buildings and administrative offices will be closed.

Larkin High School

• On Monday, the Wind Ensemble and Chorus will perform at the Memorial Day ceremony at Bluff City Cemetery in Elgin at 11 a.m.

Streamwood

• On Wednesday, the Spring Athletic Award Banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the commons.

Abbott

• On Thursday, the eighth grade Recognition Program will be held at 7 p.m. in the commons.

Ellis

• On Friday, the eighth grade Recognition Program will be held at 7 p.m. in the gym.

Tefft

• On Wednesday during school hours, the eighth grade students will travel to Navy Pier to take a cruise on Lake Michigan.

• On Friday, the eighth Grade Recognition and Awards Assembly will take place at 2 p.m. in the auditorium. That evening at 7 p.m., the eighth grade students will participate in a Recognition Ceremony at Streamwood High School.

Creekside

• On Wednesday, students in grades K-3 and the chorus will perform a Spring Sing at Larkin High School at 7 p.m.

Highland

• On Tuesday, during school hours, the students will participate in a Field Day.

• Also on Tuesday, students in grades 5-6 will perform the musical "The Granny Awards" at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at Larkin High School.

• On Friday, students in grades 3-4 will perform the musical "Go Fish" at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at Larkin High School.

Horizon

On Wednesday, sixth Grade Recognition will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the school gym.

Laurel Hill

• On Wednesday, the school will have a field day.

• On Thursday at 6:30 p.m. students will present a Science Fair in the multi-purpose room.

• On Friday at 9 a.m., Mrs. Saucedo's kindergartners will celebrate moving up to first grade. Parents are invited to attend and participate in the celebration as the kindergartners perform songs and entertain family and friends.

• Also on Friday, at 8:30 a.m. in the multi-purpose Room, 6th graders will participate in a recognition ceremony. Parents are invited to attend.

On Monday, June 2 at 9 a.m., Mrs. Ortega's and at 11:30 a.m. Ms. Fahey's kindergarten classes will celebrate moving up to first grade.. Ortega's kindergarten celebration will take place in the school gym at 9 a.m. and at 11:30 a.m. Fahey's celebration will take place in the classroom. Parents are invited to attend and participate in the celebration as kindergartners perform songs and entertain family and friends as they celebrate moving up to first grade.

• Also on June 2, Laurel Hill Awards Assembly for students in grades 3-5 will take place at 9 a.m. in the multi-purpose room, and at 1 p.m. in the multi-purpose room grades 1-2 will participate in the Primary Grade Awards Assembly.

Liberty

• On Tuesday, the patrols will be rewarded with a trip to the movie theater and a pizza lunch in the school cafeteria for being responsible safety helpers all year.

• On Thursday, kindergarten graduations will be held at 9 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. at the school.

• Also on Thursday, the sixth grade students will take a field trip to Dave & Buster's in Addison.

• Thursday evening at 6 p.m., the students who participated in the Ozzie Reading Club will attend the Kane County Cougar baseball game.

Lowrie

• On Friday at 1 p.m. in the gym, all fifth graders are participating in the DARE graduation. It is a culmination of 10 weeks of work with Officer Theil and the students. Some things they talked about are staying away from tobacco, alcohol and drugs. They also talked about peer pressure, advertising and how to tell someone they are not interested in doing things that are bad for them. They are taught to use the DARE decision model. At the end of the program, students are required to write an essay about what they learned from DARE. Parents are invited. Cookies and punch will be served afterward.

Nature Ridge

• On Friday, a Field Day will be held during the day at the school. Also on Friday evening, sixth grade Recognition will be held at the school.

• On June 2, kindergarten graduation will be held.

Sycamore Trails

• On Friday, kindergarten graduation will be held in the commons at the school from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and again from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

• Also on Friday, students in grades 4-6 will participate in a Field Day from 8 a.m. to noon at the school.

• On June 2, students in grades K-3 will participate in a Field Day from 8 a.m.-noon. at the school.

Timber Trails

• On Tuesday, all students will participate in a Field Day at the school.

• On Thursday, a Recognition assembly will be held in the gym at 9:30 a.m.

• Also on Thursday, kindergarten graduation will be held at 7 p.m. in the school gym.

• On Friday, the students will present a Talent Show at 12:30 p.m. in the gym.

Washington

• On Tuesday, all students will participate in Field Day.

• On June 2, students can bring in gently used books from home for the 2-for-1 Book Swap to be held in the library from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

• June 3 is the last day of school. Students will start at their regularly scheduled time, but will attend for one hour only.
