Art show coming Wednesday

Art students at Wheaton Academy will share their works with their family, friends and the community Wednesday.

"Photography has always been a passion of mine," said senior Carolyn Heyd of Elk Grove Village, whose photos will be featured in the school art show. "I take my camera with me where ever I go. I rarely take just one picture of my subject. I make it a point to always change the settings, distance, and angles many times, to get as many different pictures as I can."

Heyd's show submissions are part of her work for an independent study preparing her photography portfolio. It has helped her prepare for college in the fall, when she'll begin pursuing a mass communications degree at Easter, Illinois University.

The public is invited to attend the one-night-only show. Doors open at 6 p.m. at the West Chicago school, 900 Prince Crossing Road. For details, call (630) 562-7500.
