Senior job club to meet on Tuesday

Schaumburg, Palatine and Wheeling townships will sponsor their monthly senior job club at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Schaumburg Township, One Illinois Blvd., Hoffman Estates.

All job seekers 50 and older are encouraged to bring a friend.

FedEx will be there in search of drivers, particularly those with endorsements. A travel company will be there in search of inside sales professionals and Sam's Club will be hiring for management positions in marketing as well as full- and part-time cashiers.

Library to move to temporary location

The Poplar Creek Public Library has chosen a temporary site in a small mall at 490 S. Bartlett Road in Streamwood to use while the main library is being expanded.

The main library, at 1405 S. Park Ave. in Streamwood, will close May 12. The temporary site will open at an unspecified time in June.

Throughout the project, however, Poplar Creek's Sonya Crawshaw Branch at 4300 Audrey Lane in Hoffman Estates will remain open.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion project at the main library will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday. The public is invited for the ceremony and refreshments.
