These classes begin soon:

• Dog Obedience: Nine Weeks to Off-Leash Control. Train your dog to behave around the house, when guests are over and out in public. Training U, formerly Canidae Canine Services, emphasizes resolution of behavior problems through obedience. The first class is for pet owners only, so you must leave your dog at home. Please bring vaccination information. Supplies will be discussed at the first class.

Note: All family members who will handle the dog should attend the first session, and they must be at least 14 years old. Dogs must be at least four months old; there is no upper age limit. This class meets from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Saturdays, April 5-June 7. There is no class May 24. The cost of the class is $195. Use Course ID NAN S01 004 when registering.

• Animal Communication-Beginnners. Animals communicate telepathically with each other all the time. People communicate with them, too. This class will help you understand not only the basic principles of animal communication, but also how it's accomplished and why it people should do it, too.

This class meets from 7 to 10 p.m. April 16. The cost of the class is $39. Use Course ID NAN S04 004 when registering.

• Save Your Pet's Life. Learn what to do, and just as importantly, what not to do when your pet faces a life-threatening emergency. Veterinarian Candi Langdoc of Pet Vet Clinic in Huntley provides vital information for everyone who owns or handles dogs and cats. First aid and medical information is provided, along with the opportunity to ask questions and receive up-to-date knowledge on the health and well-being of your pet.

This seminar will cover animal CPR; treating wounds; avoiding common mistakes pet owners make; and simple ways to extend the life of your companion. This class meets from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., April 26. The cost of the class is $35. Use Course ID NAN S06 004 when registering.
