Gallery in the Garden benefits Turning Point

The third annual Gallery in the Garden art show will be July 26-27 in Woodstock.

The show celebrates art and nature and is currently seeking artists.

The show, organized by Gale Harris and Deb Glaubke, raises money for Turning Point, McHenry County's advocate for victims of domestic violence.

Artists interested in participating should call Turning Point at (815) 338-8081 for an application.

The goal for this year's two-day event is to feature the work of 45 artists, up from 25 at the first Gallery in the Garden.

Gallery in the Garden gets its name from its location in a private garden at 600 Lawndale Ave. in Woodstock, featuring a water garden, a Japanese-inspired garden and a lily garden, among others. The show features art displayed among the natural backdrop of the garden and artists donate a portion of their sales to Turning Point.

Last year's one-day show featured 35 area artists in all formats of artistic endeavors, including photography, sculpture, watercolors and oils. In addition, there were prizes relating to the garden theme for attendees to win.

The deadline for applications is April 1. Artists can call Gale Harris at (815) 338-8081 for details.
