Film looks at solving planet's woes

The film "The 11th Hour" will be shown from 5 to 7 p.m. March 15 at McHenry County College, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake.

The 11th hour is the last moment when change is possible. The film explores how we've arrived at this moment -- how we live, how we impact the Earth's ecosystems, and what we can do to change our course.

The film shows ongoing dialogues of experts from all over the world, including former Soviet Prime Minister Mikhail Gorbachev, renowned scientist Stephen Hawking, former head of the CIA R. James Woolsey and sustainable design experts William McDonough and Bruce Mau in addition to more than 50 leading scientists, thinkers and leaders who discuss the most important issues that face the planet and people.

The film is produced and narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, and written and directed by Leila Conners Petersen and Nadia Conners, "The 11th Hour" is produced by Leila Conners Petersen, Brian Gerber and Chuck Castleberry.

Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door.
