MCC to stage musical

The Black Box Theatre at McHenry County College will present the musical "Company" by Steven Sondheim at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, March 13 through 15, March 20 through 22, and at 2 p.m. March 16.

"Company" is a portrayal of five married couples as seen through the eyes of Robert, a perpetual bachelor. The score features songs like "Side by Side by Side," "Ladies Who Lunch" and "Another Hundred People."

Robert, who celebrates his 35th birthday with a collection of his single, married and soon-to-be-divorced friends, searches for the true meaning of happiness.

"Company" is directed by Jay Geller with musical direction by Thomas Takayama and choreography by Missy Spengel. Crew members include set design by Karen Hoffman, lighting design by Rick Amundsen, costume design by Tish Lyon, technical director Kent Wilson, and stage manager Dominick Rabe.

The cast includes Rebekah Tokarz, Katy McCord, Maggie McCord, Sean McCord, Gary Gruebnau, Alex Fayer, Sean Quinn, Heather Kessler, Caitlen Welch, Kelsey Gruebnau, Nick Mazur, Lauryn Lugo, Lauri Mazurkiewicz and Jacob Solarz.
