Residents can drop off recycling on Saturday
The McHenry County Defenders will sponsor a recycling drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Metra station parking lot on Main Street in McHenry
Items being accepted include fluorescent tubes and bulbs and household batteries. The charge for this service is $1 per pound of household batteries and 75 cents for fluorescent bulbs and tubes 4 feet and shorter. Packing peanuts and bubble wrap may be dropped off for no charge.
A buyback program and purchase of aluminum cans, brass and copper will be held at the McHenry site only.
The Woodstock collection will alternate months with the McHenry collection. McHenry's collections are held on the second Saturday of odd-numbered months and the Woodstock collection will take place on the second Saturday of each even-numbered month in the parking lot of the Farm Bureau building at 1102 McConnell Road.
