Cantigny will present the following programs at 1S151 Winfield Road, Wheaton.
Admission for most programs is free, however there is a parking fee. The fee is $7 Tuesdays through Fridays, $8 on Saturday and Sunday. A twilight fee after 4 p.m. is $4 Tuesday through Friday and $5 for Saturday and Sunday. The annual parking pass for one year is $55 with an additional one for $7.
A tram service is available during regular hours from 9 a.m. to sunset leaving from the visitors center kiosk.
Reservations are required for most programs.
Valentine's Day: The Maevis Jazz Trio will present a concert from 3 to 4 p.m. Feb. 11 at Mansion Freedom Hall. The concert will highlight romantic songs and jazz standards from the Swing Era to Be-bop. The parking fee applies. For reservations, call (630) 668-5161.
Start your seeds: Bob Carr, Cantigny grower, will offer a beginners' class with tips for choosing supplies, soil and lighting at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 18 at the greenhouse, Shaffner and Roosevelt roads, Wheaton. The fee is $15. Seating is limited and reservations suggested.
Kids Gettin' Dirty:ŒA beginner's topiary class for ages 8-12 with an adult helper begins at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 24 at the Cantigny Park greenhouse, Shaffner and Roosevelt road, Wheaton. Participants will plant a topiary and ivy to cover it. The fee is $25.
Terrarium:ŒKids ages 8-12 and an adult helper will learn how to make a terrarium at 9:30 a.m. March 3 at the Cantigny Park greenhouse, Shaffner and Roosevelt road, Wheaton. Jill Weiss will supply the materials for a table-top terrarium. The class is messy. The fee is $25.
St. Patrick's Day: Gavin Coyle, Irish performer, will sing traditional music from Ireland and pop and folk music from 3 to 4 p.m. March 11 at the Mansion Freedom Hall. The parking fee applies. For reservations, call (630) 668-5151.
