Suburbs to dominate the stage on 'Wheel of Fortune' in March

Dozens of suburbanites will spin the wheel March 7-9 when "Wheel of Fortune" comes to Navy Pier to tape three weeks' worth of episodes.

Names aren't being released, but many of the 45 contestants hail from Downers Grove, Addison, Lombard, Palatine, Rolling Meadows, Round Lake, Lake Zurich, Melrose Park, West Chicago and Round Lake Beach.

They'll be featured in special "Family Style" (family teams), "College Week" (local students) and "Get Into the Game" (sports-themed prizes) weeks. The episodes are scheduled to air nationally on ABC starting April 28.

The local contestants were chosen from hundreds who auditioned for the show when the Wheelmobile rolled into Rosemont in October.

To see who wins big money, you'll have to wait until April; tickets to sit in the live studio audience sold out weeks ago.
