Wheeling S.A.D.D. receives grant

Wheeling High School's Students Against Destructive Decisions program was recently awarded a $2,000 grant in recognition of its efforts to spread awareness about the consequences of poor traffic safety choices among teens.

A total of 105 high schools throughout Illinois were awarded this grant in order to institute a teen-led traffic safety program. The schools will compete regionally to create and execute the best teen safe driving awareness campaign. Winners will be awarded additional money to be used for a safe post-prom party and for continuation of their school's program.

Wheeling's program will be called "The Campaign of Choice," recognizing that the choices teens make could lead to tragic consequences.
