Baseball
Registration: Gagewood Lions Boys Baseball is taking mail-in registration for the 2008 boys in-house baseball program. Boys must be 6 to 14 years of age as of Aug. 1. Registration will be taken on a first-come basis until the program level is filled. Mail-in registration closes Feb. 29. Registration forms and more information can be found at www.gagewoodbaseball.com. Fill out the form, print and mail to the address on the Web site.
Spring camps: Elmhurst Youth Baseball, Elmhurst Extreme Baseball and Fastball USA are teaming up for a spring throwing/pitching camp for 7- to 12-year-olds from 6 to 8 p.m. April 11 and 4 to 6 p.m. April 12. A step-by-step approach to throwing and pitching mechanics will be followed. The camp, held at Fastball USA in Elmhurst, will be run by a Fastball USA instructor with assistance from Elmhurst Extreme 12-year-old team and Blackbelt pitching students.

Basketball
SRACLC tournament: The Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County hosted the ITRS Basketball Tournament on Feb. 10 at the Libertyville Sports Complex. Fifteen teams from surrounding suburban Special Recreation Associations competed at the tournament. The SRACLC Crusaders -- Red Basketball Team received first Place in the tournament.
Football
Early registration: The Wauconda/Island Lake Falcons will hold early registrations for the 2008 football season from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Wauconda High School, 555 N. Main Street, Wauconda.
The program is dedicated to teaching children ages 5 to 14 the fundamentals of football in a fun and educational environment. An emphasis is placed on individual skills development, confidence, teamwork and good sportsmanship to help aspiring young athletes become better football players and citizens.
