Police beat

North Aurora

• Thomas D. Stoecker, 17, of 605 W. Downer Place, Aurora, was cited for parking in a forbidden area and zero tolerance of alcohol near Mooseheart Road and Lincolnway at 2:31 a.m. Saturday, according to a police report.

• Tracy L. Wargo, 34, of 30W091 Arbury Court, Warrenville, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident at 1:20 a.m. at Butterfield and River roads, according to a police report.

Geneva

• A West Chicago man was taken to Delnor-Community Hospital after an accident at 11:13 p.m. Monday on Averill Road east of Kirk Road. Dain E. Drake, 20, of 870 Brentwood Court, was driving east when he braked for oncoming traffic, but was unable to stop on the snow-covered road. He hit the back of a parked Peterbilt 387 truck.

Kane County

• Tools and materials valued at $1,500 were stolen from Elmhurst Chicago Stone Co., 45W371 Main Street in Kaneville Township, between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to a police report.

St. Charles

• Lourdez Avila-Cortez, 41, of 367 Harvest Lane Unit 1, South Elgin, was cited at 2:42 p.m. Feb. 7 for operating an uninsured vehicle, driving without a valid license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after a two-vehicle crash on the 3700 block of East Stearns Avenue, according to a police report released Friday. Avila-Cortez was released with a notice to appear in court Feb. 23.

• Andrew T. Martin, 28, of 94 Ninth Ave., Bartlett, was charged Feb. 5 with felony retail theft, according to a police report released Friday. Martin's bond was set at $25,000. The report did not give further details.

• Someone in a light gray station wagon stole $74 in fuel at 7:22 p.m. Wednesday from the Meijer gas station, 1023 W. Main St.
