MCC offering manufacturing training
Those who want to move from a job to a promising career and need training to learn higher-level skills in the manufacturing industry may consider attending a "Shifting Gears" program informational session at 7 p.m. Tuesday at McHenry County College in Room B166-167, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake.
"Shifting Gears" is a new program for adult students who are interested or who are already working in manufacturing and wish to receive training to begin or advance in a career in manufacturing.
Participants will learn blueprint reading, basic technical math, communication skills, industrial safety and employability skills.
This program will provide the training needed for people to earn more money, advance as they learn new skills and connect with manufacturers who are looking for skilled workers.
Classes are from 9 a.m. to noon or 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays March 31 through July 23.
