Romney's earned support of voters

With the Feb. 5 presidential primary in Illinois rapidly approaching, I can't help but think back to this summer when I attended the State Fair to participate in Republican Day and the first-ever Presidential Straw Poll.

Illinois Campaign Chairman Dan Rutherford arrived with hundreds of supporters for Mitt Romney and the candidate's son, Craig, who stood in the rain for more than an hour just to thank supporters. They were excited about what Gov. Romney had to offer and made a lot of sense when they talked about him being the best choice for president. They won the straw poll with more than 40 percent of the vote - and won my support in the primary.
