District 200 to host Hubble info sessions for residents
Wheaton Warrenville Unit District 200 voters who are tired of the acrimony surrounding the potential relocation of Hubble Middle School have several chances to get a just-the-facts version of the key points.
Officials over the next couple of weeks will host Hubble information sessions for the public at several locations throughout the district.
The next session is scheduled for 10 a.m. today at the Wheaton Leisure Center in Wheaton's Memorial Park.
As part of each 40-minute session, district staff will present the rationale behind the proposed $58 million new Hubble site and school design.
The cost structure and financing of the debt also will be broken down at the meetings. Staff will answer questions from the audience.
School board members will not be part of the presentation.
Superintendent Richard Drury, Communications Director Bob Rammer and Hubble Principal Beth Sullivan will be the presenters.
"Our position is, we hope people go to the polls and vote," Rammer said. "How they vote is their determination. We'll let the citizens make up their minds. We're just going to present factual information."
The Hubble referendum is Feb. 5.
