Rehab center seeks donations during non-telethon event

The Adult & Child Rehab Center will hold a "No Telethon Telethon" this year.

The cost for producing the telethon was more than $14,000 last year. This money would be better spent providing direct services to the increasing number of clients.

Instead of lights and cameras, the center will devote its time and money not in producing a show, but in assisting a client in their recovery from a traumatic brain injury, the at-risk elderly with balance issues or young people with developmental delays.

The Adult & Child Rehab Center's mission is to provide the highest level of services to the physically challenged and disabled of every age, bringing hope and creating confidence to realize individual maximum levels of independence. The center provides physical, occupational, speech and lymphedema therapies, as well as nursing care and has been providing services to the residents of McHenry County since 1949.

The Rehab Center does not receive any state or federal funding. They rely on the generosity of the community to reach the $100,000 goal for this campaign.

If you would like to make a donation, send it to 708 Washington St., Woodstock, IL 60098. For more information, call (815) 338-1707.
