Dinosaur Day held in Elmhurst

Dinosaur Day will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art, 220 Cottage Hill Ave., Elmhurst. The event includes hands-on activities for visitors ages 5 through adult. Ralph Covert plays at COD

Disney artist and Chicago rocker Ralph Covert will perform "Ralph's World," a children's musical concert where kids can rock, sing songs and dance with their big people friends, at both 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday on the Mainstage of McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn. Recommended for children ages four to nine years old. Tickets cost $14 for adults, $12 for children under 18 years old and seniors 60 years old or older. Start reading in Bloomingdale

Winter reading programs for all ages will begin Monday at Bloomingdale Public Library, 101 Fairfield Way, Bloomingdale. "Skate In and Read!" is the program for children who have not yet entered first grade, "Read to Succeed" is the program for children grades one through eight, and "Perk Up and Read" is the program for teens and adults. Art exhibit to close Saturday

A multi-media exhibit of artworks by five Ohio artists that represent the turbulent history of the state will be open for the final day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Gahlberg Gallery of McAninch Arts Center, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn. Marionettes to perform in Roselle

Registration begins Monday for a free marionette performance at 11 a.m. Jan. 26 at Roselle Public Library, 40 S. Park St., Roselle. Roberts Marionettes will present the Scottish folktale, "The Lass that Couldna Be Frightened." The performance is suggested for children kindergarten and older, but is open to all ages. 52 Books starts in Bensenville

The 52 Books, 52 Weeks program officially kicked-off at Bensenville Community Public Library Jan. 1. The yearlong reading program's goal is not for people to finish 52 books within a one-year time frame, but for people to make reading a part of their week every week.
