Businessman wins 2007 Windy Award

The Promotional Products Association of Chicago Inc., presented Jim Dunne with its 2007 Windy Award, for going above and beyond for the ultimate good of the promotional products industry.

Dunne, a 29-year veteran of the promotional products industry, serves as president of Marketnet Inc., in Rolling Meadows, which supplies creative marketing and promotional support to many Fortune 100 companies in the United States.

• Hap Holly of Des Plaines has won many speech contests during his Des Plaines Toastmasters tenure. He also has mentored dozens of fledgling Toastmasters and was a multiterm club president and multiterm district area governor.

In November, Holly, who has been blind since age 7, received a plaque from Patrick Conlon of Des Plaines, Des Plaines Toastmasters club president; Tim Bolger of Algonquin, District 30 Northwest area governor; and Kyle Roti of Schaumburg, District 30 Northwest division governor, in recognition of his 30 years of continuous membership and demonstrated leadership in Des Plaines Toastmasters and Toastmasters International.

Holly works as an audio engineer for Horizons For the Blind in Crystal Lake, converting print material to Braille, large print and audio for cell phone manufacturers, utilities, restaurants and hotels.

• Monika Montemayor of Elk Grove Village, an independent consultant with Tastefully Simple Inc. was promoted to a team leader with the national direct seller of gourmet foods.

Montemayor earned the promotion through sales achievements and by adding new consultants to her team.

The promotion entitles Montemayor to a variety of benefits such as commissions, bonuses, allowance and more.

• Bartlett resident Kari Mastrodomenico was the overall winner of the Values Award for the third quarter of 2007 at Barrington Orthopedic Specialists, Hoffman Estates.

Mastrodomenico, who works in the patient services department, primarily out of the Bartlett office, was honored for exhibiting accountability, respect, honesty, compassion and teamwork in her daily duties.

Runners up were Sarah Weiby, a registered nurse for a clinical team providing support to Drs. Patel and Sullivan; and Yolanda Stott, a receptionist for the rehabilitation department in Hoffman Estates.
