Larkin High

• On Wednesday, the seventh-hour concert band and the Jazz Ensemble will perform together at 7:30 p.m. in the Larkin High School auditorium, 1475 Larkin Ave., Elgin. Admission is $2 per adult, $1 per student, and $6 per family.

• On Thursday, the sixth-hour concert band and Wind Ensemble will perform together at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Admission is $2 per adult, $1 per student, and $6 per family.

Streamwood High

• On Thursday, the band, orchestra, and choirs will perform the Winter Concert at 7 p.m. in the Streamwood High School auditorium, 701 W. Schaumburg Road. Admission is $2 per adult, $1 per student, and $6 per family.

Abbott

• Today, the Abbott Middle School chorus, band, and orchestra will present a holiday concert at 7 p.m. in the Larkin High School auditorium, 1475 Larkin Ave., Elgin. Admission is $6 per family, $2 per adult, and $1 per student.

• On Wednesday, all eighth-graders will participate in "The Mystery Shop" workshop. Students will play detectives to try to solve a fictional murder.

Ellis

• Today, a band concert will be performed at 7 p.m. in the Ellis Middle School auditorium, 225 S. Liberty St., Elgin. Admission is $2 per adult, $1 per student, and $6 per family.

Centennial

• Today, sixth-graders will travel to Charlestowne Mall in St. Charles to spread some holiday cheer with songs from around the world. The performance is scheduled for 11 a.m.

Washington

• On Thursday, a Book Swap will take place at Washington Elementary School, 819 W. Chicago St., Elgin. Students will bring gently used books from home and trade them for a "new" book.
