Lakes pulls out another win

Lakes' boys basketball team stayed hot Saturday night.

Kevin Rice's 12 points led four players in double figures, as the Eagles edged host Wauconda 51-48 for their fourth win in a row.

Lakes improved to 5-4 overall and 3-1 in the North Suburban Prairie Division.

The Eagles also received 11 points, 3 steals and 3 assists from Trey Williams. Kevin Guirand and Dan Kalb each scored 10 points. Guirand also collected 5 rebounds and 3 assists, while Kalb had 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks and 3 steals. Rice also had 3 steals.

Wauconda's Cole Dimick led all scorers with 22 points. Eric Grozavescu and Bryce Lahrman had 8 and 7 points, respectively, for the Bulldogs (5-5, 1-3).

Vernon Hills 58, Round Lake 43: Kenny Rideout and DaVaris Daniels each scored 16 points for the Cougars in the North Suburban Prairie Division game.

Vernon Hills (4-4, 3-1) also got 8 points from Riaz Hoveydai.

Jon Martinez had 16 points for Round Lake (1-8, 0-3).

N. Chicago 99, Antioch 59: Keith Ford scored 22 points for the Warhawks in the North Suburban Prairie Division game.

North Chicago also got 18 points from DeShawn Chambliss and 17 apiece from Patrick Terrell and Kentrall Wilson.

Antioch (1-8, 1-4) was led in scoring by Mike Powell's 28 points. Lamarr Pottinger had 14.

Nazareth 57, Carmel 40: Jack Baucus scored 14 points for the Corsairs in the East Suburban Catholic Conference game.
