Rehab center will not hold a telethon this year
After 21 years of producing the annual telethon, the Adult and Child Rehab Center has made a bold decision.
ACRC is announcing the "No Telethon Telethon."
Last year, the cost for producing the telethon was more than $14,000. This money would be better spent providing direct services to our increasing number of clients.
So this year, there will be no lights and cameras. Instead, ACRC will be devoting its time and money to assisting a client in their recovery from a traumatic brain injury, the at-risk elderly with balance issues or our young population with developmental delays.
The Adult & Child Rehab Center's mission is to provide the highest level of services to the physically challenged and disabled of every age, bringing hope and creating confidence to realize individual maximum levels of independence.
Since 1949, ACRC has been providing physical, occupational, speech and lymphedema therapies, as well as nursing care to the residents of McHenry County.
Because the rehab center does not receive any state or federal funding, the center must rely on the generosity of the community to reach the $100,000 goal for this campaign.
