Briefs: Dist. 103 online registration review
Lincolnshire-Prairie View Elementary District 103 has proposed to move to an online registration system to select classes for next year's summer school. Using a system provided by a San Diego-based company called Active Network, parents will access the system through the district's Web site. They can then select students' courses and opt to select transportation. They can pay all costs on the Web site using an electronic check or credit card. To cover costs of the online registration process, fees would increase to $86.50 per class and $80 per student for transportation. In speaking with neighboring districts, District 103 would be the first to move to an online registration system. The board will make a decision at its Jan. 14 meeting.

Additionally, firefighters Bill Lark, Tim Starkey and Mark Gaunky were named lieutenants. The promotions were the first major personnel changes since Tim Sashko was named chief in October.
